James Simon gave new life to the street view in downtown Pittsburgh with the legendary public art water, and his large-scale musician sculptures added bold and innovative artistic elements to the urban environment. Entrusted by the developer Eve Picker, the designer wants to transform a narrow and abandoned open space into a modern high-rise building with a patio in the project. The patio features three 4.57-meter-high concrete sculptures. Vivid musicians are paying tribute to the music tradition of Pittsburgh. They stand at the entrance and have become a landmark, greeting thousands of people passing by every day.
In 2003, designer S Simon was invited to design three large sculptures, which were planned to be placed in front of the New Development Center, located at 947 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The sculpture is named "The Musician of Freedom Avenue". They connect the courtyard side of the new building to make the street facing freedom more continuous, and at this time, ensure that the patio is free from the street. The three large musicians sculptures designed by James Simon, located in the center of Pittsburgh, add an eclectic and festive atmosphere to Pittsburgh's historic block. The former streets and alleys have been transformed, and now it is undergoing renovation. The three sculptures are quite recognizable and have become a landmark leading to the entrance of the busy streets in Pittsburgh.
